YUHL CARR sponsors and attends annual FOR THE TROOPS GOLF TOURNAMENT

Moorpark Country Club – Yuhl Carr partners Chris Yuhl and Jim Carr hosted guest Christian Stouder and Glen Hogue in a foursome raising money to prepare and send “We Care” packages to our troops overseas.  FOR THE TROOPS is an all-volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization “dedicated to providing members of the American Military” care packages containing basic hygiene necessities, goodies, and games to improve morale and show added support from the American Citizens these dedicated service personnel represent.  As founder Paula Conell remembers, “it all started with a toothbrush” in 2005 and has grown into an annual act of compassion and support from the community though packing boxes and fundraising events. 

The Golf Tournament including not only supporters but brough together active Military members to pay for free, many of whom are based at Ventura County Air Station in the Coast Guard and Air Force.  Several active-duty Marines also were invited to take a break from their duties to play in the Tournament on a beautiful day in hills of Moorpark, CA. 

In addition to playing in the golf tourney and helping send over 335,000 care boxes, Yuhl Carr annually supports the group with Dodger Ticket donations for its silent auctions at the annual fund raising banquet in March.  For more information on FOR THE TROOPS and if you would like to help, please go to www.forthetroops.org  or contact Paula Cornell directly at (805) 306-8030.
